SEEDS OF FAITH PRESCHOOL

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…God has made everything beautiful in its time. Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11

Dear St. Luke and friends of Seeds of Faith Preschool,

It gives me no joy to inform you that this year’s Seeds of Faith preschool classes will be their last.

After thoughtful discussion and prayerful discernment, the St. Luke Church Council unanimously agreed at our December 2023 meeting that the Seeds of Faith Preschool is no longer a program our congregation can adequately support going forward. If your child is currently enrolled and you are just learning of this news, we are deeply sorry for any heartache and inconvenience this may cause you and hope you are able to secure alternative arrangements for your child. The members of St. Luke will host a celebration for all the teachers, drivers, volunteers, and administrators who have helped lead and educate so many wonderful children throughout the years, as well as to bless and send off Seeds of Faith and all those who’ve benefitted from its ministry, at a time to be determined this spring.

We remember that there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens—and that this too is the Spirit of the Lord calling on us to make the difficult but necessary decision to end this chapter of our ministry to the children and families of this community. We appreciate your understanding and pray for all those affected in the coming weeks and months as we all move forward into the unknown, trusting that the same God “who has made everything beautiful in its time” will do so in such a time as this, too.

God’s peace be with you,

Keith Long, Senior Pastor; Eric Thiewes, Council President; Brandon Hirsch, Vice President; Dale Vogt, Treasurer; Jina Forys, Outgoing President; Dan Boyd, Communicator; Kate Brown, Personnel Team Chair; Scott Peterson, Technology Team Chair; Connie Shirkey, Council Member at-large.

Curriculum

Kindergarten readiness skills are taught with a daily routine that encourages children to actively learn a set of key child development experiences; teachers use a child observation assessment technique and parent involvement.  The daily routine emphasizes a literacy and phonics curriculum that is central to the child’s active learning.  We strive to strengthen each child's intellectual, physical, spiritual, emotional and social development by providing a program that will encourage and challenge them to their fullest potential. The curriculum teaches children the beginnings of responsibility and independence, while nourishing their creativity.
