Council and Facility Updates - Your Generosity in Action:

•        Thanks to member (and former Council president) Hayley Nue, we are starting a Social Media Team to help us better connect to the community - if you are interested in serving, contact Hayley

•        The search for a new Office Manager to replace Pam is underway. This is a part-time position (20-25 hr/wk, $22/hr) that requires onsite office hours. Check out Indeed or contact the office for the full job description and additional information.

•        For the first time in almost 25 years, St. Luke has a new water fountain in the hallway! Bring your water bottles and check it out! Thank you to all who helped get it up and running.

•        We are researching a new corner LED sign to replace our older wooden one. Contact Lori Hintz if you have expertise you’d like to share.

•        We are making of list of capital improvements, from the roof to the parking lot. If you have experience and/or knowledge in the ins/outs of facility maintenance, our Council Property representative Kyle Knop would love your input!

•        You may have noticed new updated furniture in the Narthex. Thank you Megan Knop for making that happen! 

· Keep your eyes out for updated furniture in the office and         Narthex! As part of keeping our facility up to date, we’ll be      modernizing some furniture—including our well-loved (and well-worn) chairs in Room Mary!

· The days of getting a surprise shower while trying to drink water from our old fountain are finally behind us. The new water     fountain has been delivered, and we are working with plumbers and electricians to get it hooked up.

· Based on feedback from June’s coffee with the council, we’re working to put together a table area to keep little ones busy so   parents and grandparents can socialize!

Item description· Attention all worship / volunteer leads! The council will set up meetings 2-3x yearly to go over purchase vouchers, chain of command, etc. to make sure everyone is on the same page.

· THANK YOU to Joe Day, who is stepping back from leading the soundboard as of 5/31. Another THANK YOU to Steve Weber who will be taking on the lead.

· Please join us in Room Mary on June 14th following worship to hear what work the council has been up to, and our vision for the future. Of course we’ll have snacks provided too!

· Pastor Keith, Lori Hintz, Megan Knop, and Steve Weber all attended the annual St. Paul ELCA Synod gathering. Keep your eyes out as we      implement some new activities inspired from the event.

· The 2027 ELCA National Youth Gathering will be in Minneapolis! The dates are June 28th-July 2nd. Pastor Keith will set up a meeting for    parents in July, more details will be communicated soon! If you’d like to be involved, please stop by the Welcome Desk. Learn more at: www.elca.org/gathering

· Flag Relocation - Thanks for your vote! Soon, the US and Christian Flags will be set up in the corner outside the office.  

· Mary Butze, band leader, and Lori Hintz, worship accompanist, will be stepping back from their roles at the end of May.  Please take a moment to thank them for their years of time and talent!

· Keep an eye out for mid-year giving statements and a financial update coming in May/June!

· Recycled Cans - Thanks to a passionate volunteer and your generosity, the recycled can trailer is

being fixed and will continue to be available to raise youth funds. 

· We heard you!  We are pricing a new water fountain/cooler to replace the current one (which gives the user an unplanned shower).  

· With nice weather and mowing season upon us, we'd like to thank Doug Halsey for his time and equipment to keep our lawns neat and healthy! 

‍ ‍· Council has approved extending Light The Way's lease through December 2026, as their building will not be ready for move-in until after that time.

‍ ‍· Flag Relocation - On April 19 after church, you are invited to view and vote on the options for setting up the American and Church flags in the narthex.

· We are filling two music positions: Worship/Choir Accompanist to start May 31, and Choir Director to start late August.  If you know of anyone interested or have ideas about where to post, talk to a Council representative or email Lynn Deiman at personnel@stlukecg.org. 

‍ · Kyle Knop, our Facilities/Technology Council representative, has been busy!  The broken gutter on the north side playground area has been fixed. We have also replaced our Sanctuary computer and completed installation of Gateway Fiber (which we get for free because they lease a portion of our parking lot). If you're interested in helping Kyle on the Facilities Team, reach out to him at TechRep@stlukecg.org.

‍ ‍· Choir Bells - We have accepted a gift of choir bells from a church out east. We will receive them sometime in the Fall and will work towards building a Bell Choir. If you have experience in Bell Choir or interest on participating, please contact any of the Council representatives.
